Dear friends
By God’s grace my eldest son, one of my daughters and I had the privilege to attend the bi-annual Ministers conference at Kwasizabantu Mission in KwaZulu Natal South Africa.
A few thousand ministers, missionaries and Christian workers came from all over the world to come and hear what God had to say to us. I was also blessed that my missionary friend and brother in Christ, Abraham Warren from Cambodia, could attend. His family and he stays literally between some of the biggest Buddhist temples in the world, considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Apart from cultural and climate challenges, just imagine the spiritual darkness they as a family have to face every day.
The Minister’s Conference was a wonderful time of spiritual refreshment for us. The theme of the conference was Revival, God at work. We heard many good speakers on good topics, of which one of the highlights was the session on digital cocaine by Brad Huddleston. The speaker explained some of the effects that addiction to smartphones and other computer devices could have on us and our children.
The highlight of the conference was the evening services, conducted by reverend Erlo Stegen, head of Kwasizabantu Mission. He shared on what revival is, how to obtain revival and reasons why revivals end. We were challenged and touched as reverend Stegen shared how God dealt with him prior to the beginning of the revival. He also shared the importance that all our sins must be brought to the light and that we must have clean hearts before the Lord. Once again it became clear to us that God first wants to work in our lives and deal with us before working in our ministries. After the services of reverend Stegen, many stayed behind to make their lives right with the Lord. We thank God for every heart that was touched.
By God’s grace, I could also stay behind at the mission a bit longer after the conference and spent time counselling on my personal life and ministry. What a joy and privilege it is to have brothers and sisters in Christ who can pray with us and seek God’s face with us for our spiritual lives and ministries.
Lord willing within a day or two I will depart back home to continue with the work that God had entrusted to us.
