Velloorsdrift Bakery was started to serve the Onseepkans community and surrounding area with freshly baked quality bread and confectionary.
Through the years we saw a great need in our disadvantaged community for fresh baked bread and confectionary. Beginning of 2021 we decided to start addressing this need and since then our bakery had evolved into a fulltime business. We were registered as a Private Company in June 2021.
Our bakery had a humble start where we knead bread dough by hand and baked it in two small domestic gas stoves in our mission kitchen. Soon we were overwhelmed by the great demand for fresh bread. A kind-hearted friend of our mission helped us acquire a second-hand dough mixer and convection oven that could bake eight breads at a time. Then by the grace of God and help of SEDA (Small enterprise Development Agency) we’ve grown into a fully operational bakery that bake 100-200 breads daily, as well as serving the community with cakes, speciality cakes and a range confectionary goods.
We aim to not only produce quality products for our community, but also to supply surrounding towns with quality baked goods.
